Our client is a major provider of innovative and technologically sophisticated baking, food service and packaging solutions across the African continent and key International Markets. They are looking to appoint a Marsden Machine Setter at their Blackheath (Cape Town) based facility.
Only candidates already in the Western Cape will be considered. 

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with maths and physical science OR N3 / N4 Mechanical Engineering
  • Red Seal trade test certificate in Toolmaking, Fitting & Turning or Machining
  • Hands-on experience with Eccentric machines and tooling (non-negotiable_
  • Good understanding of production processes in Marsden
  • Able to read, interpret and work from technical drawings
  • Good fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work with a tape measure and vernier
  • High level of attention and accuracy
  • Able to work under pressure
  • OSH awareness

Working Hours

Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30
Friday:  08:00 - 16:00
Over time required from time-to-time

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines for production according to work instructions
  • Monitor tooling and report to Toolroom on a regular basis
  • Examine for defects, measuring for conformance to specs
  • Adhere to standard times
  • Maintenance of measuring equipment – including regular calibration
  • General house-keeping
  • Wear PPE
  • Able to work over time and night shift
